Dr Sev is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. She completed her medical degree at the University of Otago in 2002, before migrating to Australia to complete her internship.

Before commencing general practice training in 2010, Dr Sev worked as an emergency department resident, then registrar, at the Prince of Wales Hospital for 3 years; during this time she also worked in anaesthetics and intensive care.

Dr Sev has completed courses in adult and paediatric advanced life support and sexual reproductive health. She has a special interest in women's health.
