General advice to reduce exposure risk:

With the number of confirmed and suspected coronavirus cases increasing in Australia, we would like to remind our community of the continuing need to take preventative measures to reduce the risk of exposure to Coronavirus (COVID-19). We recommend that you continue to actively practice daily hygiene including the following:

  • Wash your hands frequently (with soap and water for 20 seconds) or use a sanitising hand wash.

  • Avoid touching your nose, eyes or mouth

  • If you feel the need to cough or sneeze, do so into a tissue, then throw the tissue away and wash your hands immediately

  • Avoid, as much as possible, crowded places

  • Avoid, as much as possible, travel to places with growing numbers of cases

  • Avoid close contact with sick people who have fevers or coughs

  • Avoid close contact with people who have recently returned (in the last 14 days) from higher risk countries (Mainland China, Iran, Italy and South Korea) and moderate risk countries (Cambodia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore and Thailand)

  • If you, your child or any other dependants are sick, stay home and avoid close contact with others until you have been evaluated by your doctor

  • Stay well informed with quality news updates from the NSW Government Website, the WHO and the CDC.
